Some quick takeaways from the games thus far:
The Seahawks look great. If Lacy is out for more than a game or two, it could spell disaster for the Packers.
The Falcons outscore the Saints in a shootout. Props to Matt Bryant showing us all that he still can hit it from 50+ yards (once to send it to OT & the other to win it).
Maybe Ray Rice has been a distraction for the Ravens (and the NFL as a whole) or maybe they just aren't that good. Just keep throwing to A.J. Green and the Bengals should be fine.
Tough loss for the Bears, but no need to panic. Maybe Fred Jackson and the Bills are just better than we thought.
No Clowney, no problem for the Texans - J.J. Watt has it all covered. Redskins, take a page out of the Bears' book and pause the panic button...for now - if you put up 6 points again next week, then panic.
Locker proved he can lead the Titans. Meanwhile, the Chiefs lost two huge pieces of their defense and could be in for a very tough season.
Dolphins come up with a huge (don't call it an upset) win against their division rival, much in part to Moreno's effort. The Patriots won't panic, although it is always a bit fun to watch Brady & Belichick lose (it doesn't happen that often).
Jets did enough to win at home and should get better as the seasons progresses. Raiders played it close, but Carr is going to need some defensive help if they hope to win many games.
Unfortunately, the Jaguars just forgot to play in the second half, but there is cause for optimism if they play like the first two quarters. The Eagles prove that they can pretty much score at will like Kelly's former team, the Oregon Ducks.
Suisham's game winning FG wasn't even the best kick of the day for the Steelers. The Browns should take solace in the fact that they are playing in a fairly even division.
The Vikings dominated. My vote is that the Rams call Vinny Testeverde to try out at QB.
The Cowboys offense looked decent (minus the four TO's), but their defense is truly terrible. 49ers probably could have scored even more if they had wanted to do so.
Luck's Colts came back admirably, but will have a tough time on defense losing their anchor Mathis for the season. I'm thinking of copyrighting the phrase "Manning to Thomas" as that seems to be something that will be uttered quite a bit during Broncos games.
